When you think of pumpkin, you likely think of pumpkin pie, and that's something you usually only eat around Thanksgiving, right? Or maybe you are thinking Halloween and a jacko'lantern? Which, sadly enough, is often made of the pumpkin shell and most people just throw out the insides. What a waste!

That jacko'lantern was once filled with phytonutrients before it was nothing more than a gaping mouth and a blank stare.

Pumpkins have great source of fiber, vitamins C and E, and potassium which may help to prevent heart disease and normalise blood pressure. The pumpkin seed oil extract can helps in reduction of frequency of night time urination. It may help to prevent prostate enlargement by blocking testostreone, the male hormone that can trigger prostate growth.



Pumpkin seed can be eaten roasted as well.

Therefore, think twice before you throw away the meat of the pumpkin after making the Halloween's jacko'lantern.
